More life updates since last I graced this journal. Most critically, my day job of 14 years, Reviewed, laid off the entire staff and "closed", only to miraculously be revived a month later, freshly shorn of all us pesky unionized employees, whilst rehiring back all the management as regular (non-union) writers for the content mill it has become.
Whilst I search for reliable employment, I have been venturing into voiceover work with more serious focus. A few of the projects I've been involved in that have gone live:
Wild Coin Hunting: A nice little not-quite-self-help audiobook, and a gentle start to the business of audiobook narration (with more to come!)
The Crawling World: A narrative podcast written by Thomas Barker. On hiatus now, hopefully to be restarted soon.
You MUST listen to RFC 2119: An acquaintance of an old work friend asked me to narrate a thing. Just about the driest piece of technical writing I’ve ever encountered, read, at his request, in the most irritating, “God I just want to punch this guy” voice I could muster. Enjoy, if you so choose.
